Banned List Update!!!
We all knew SOMETHING was coming. Can't really blame the community for whining about it but...can yall chill the fuck out next time and wait for Bandai to just do something? Jesus.
Banned:
Bardock, the Progenitor
A Child's Wish
Errata:
Super Shenron
20 cards for an extra turn -> 30 BATTLE cards for an extra turn.
Overall I have no complaints. I loved playing Bardock, and ACW was one of my top 5 cards (for the exact reason why its banned, btw) but they were too strong and needed to go.
I am proud of Bandai for banning a Super Rare, its hard to do such a thing after people have spent so money on product trying to get these powerful cards. I spent 60 on my playset of Bardock. I have no regrets, they've won me hella games and what not. Now its worthless. But, DBSTCG still exists so, why cry about it? I just hope they do NOT make a habit of this. Please learn how to balance your game Bandai, we know its new and all but we want it to actually last for 10+ years.
A Child's Wish was one of those cards that I knew was broken upon release, but I didn't think it would come to this to be honest! There was a reason they didn't include ACW in the Shenron Starter Deck right?? I've tried Explorer Bulma and ACW combos in decks, and it was lit, but I have never been the type to break the game. Worst I've done with this was Shenron Lineage that I copied from a Bandai rep at Nats and improved it. But that was back when we had Bardock and Goten so wasn't nobody trippin about Bulma + ACW. Shout out to Danny Win & Jordan Beard tho.
Super Shenron should have just been banned imo. I don't mind powerful effects in games like taking an extra turn. So it never really bothered me. But I can't lie and say taking an extra turn on turn THREE or FOUR isn't a little too good, on top of being able to tap your opponent's energy (in which they can't interact with because of Deflect and Path having Barrier) is a little over the top. Even the storm version is dumb. I think SS should have just been banned, because we still have Shenron (who people cried plz ban) and Porunga, who both have very strong ultimates and can also play any desires for free. But Egman made a good point, they probably errata it because they have cards coming for SS leader. No idea what they would be but yeah.
Anyways. This is my create a card dump. Not gonna leave without some. Here are some imo balanced versions of the newly banned and errata'ed cards.
Problems with Bardock:
Some people thing Grandpa Gohan can replace Bardock like it ain't nothin. This is my blog so I can say what I want. You're fucking retarded.
Bardock, the Progenitor
Yellow Battle Card
Cost: 1 (Y)
Combo: 0+5k
Skill: [Swap 2]
[Auto] When you play this card, if your leader is <Goku's Lineage>, add 1 life to your hand.
[Auto] When this card attacks, if your leader is yellow <Saiyan>, this card gains +5000 power for the duration of the battle.
Power: 5000
Character: Bardock
Special Trait: Saiyan/Goku's Lineage
This card needs leader restrictions. Period. It can still do dumb things. But this one is much less generically abuseable, you shouldn't see it outside of big yellow decks. I hope.
Alternatively you could just make it so it crits the life instead of adding it to your hand. Could still be abused though.
A Child's Wish
Black Extra Card
2 Cost ()
Skill: [Permanent] This card gains <Desire> in all areas.
[Activate: Main] Your leader is a <Shenron> card: Choose 1 Battle Card in your Drop Area with 15000 or less power and an energy cost of 3 or less and play it. Skills can't activate when the chosen battle card enters play.
Forget all that once per turn BS. I know the card is still strong. But ETB skills are typically stronger than on attack skills, especially on lower costed battle cards. I have it worded this way so NO skills will trigger. Not even great ape baby's.
Three energy on turn two has always been OP (see SS3 ban). But maybe this is more of what Bandai had in mind when they made the card. Its cool to spam Child's Wish and bring out hella Quick Thinkin' Gotenks and Iron Hammer of Justice Android 16. Doing it to constantly play Explorer Bulma and then take an extra turn on turn 3, ehhhhhhh.

Problems with Bardock:
- 1 energy cost
- Goes +1 when you play him
- Gets you closer to awakening, which gives you more advantage.
But Badman, there are plenty of cards like this. I don't see an issue?
4. Swings for 10k
5. Can also Swap into another 10k that gives you a +1 (banned). Or a 15k.
6. This mfer searchable for 0 energy.
7. His wife is a real ride or die, you can play her for free if he is in play.
8. He can evolve into Will of Iron.
9. Your opponent can't even attack into him, he's going back into your hand.
Can't nobody else do it like Bardock. In the grand scheme of things, you go +1, and your opponent has to spend 1-3 cards to stop your two attacks for 1 YELLOW energy. NOT EVEN RED!!! Bandai how you let this happen?!?!!?

Super Shenron, the Almighty
[Permanent] This card can't attack.
[Activate: Main] [Once per turn] Choose one-
• Draw 1 card.
• Choose 1 "Desire" card from your hand with an energy cost less than or equal to your current energy and activate its
[Activate: Main] skill.
• Remove 7 [Dragon Ball] cards in your Drop Area from the game and choose 20 cards from your Drop Area then shuffle them into your deck. If you do, and there is 9 or more energy in play, flip this card over at the end of the turn and take another turn after this one.

To be honest, I don't know how to balance this card. I am just a guy that thinks he knows what he's talking about but doesn't really have any game balance and design experience. This sounds like it would work. Kind of puts the onus on both players. Reason why I say 9 energy in play is because, originally I had it to where your opponent would need 4 or 5 energy for it to work. But this is Phone Booth the Card Game, so some decks could be fine staying at 3 the entire game if they felt like it. If they did that you could still take that extra turn, you'd just have to survive until 6 energy....
Well I am glad we got this list. Not really. Idc. Still gonna play, still gonna dominate. And I'mma still look pretty, and fuck all the bitches and do it, and smoke sour and drink grand cru. I'mma still be that nigga dawg.
Till next time.
